I was in my studio, talking to a singer about the fun of running the vocal track thru Reaktor, we got very enthused, so I expanded my sermon and began to tell the story of Vokator, a brand new offering from Native Instruments, their attempt at the ulimate voice synthesizer. After a few pep rallies like that, I'm frothing at the mouth to BUY BUY BUY synthesizers synthesizers synthesizers Reaktor Reaktor Reaktor, I go online in a frenzy to order, and that's when I notice VOKATOR is $299!!! What the fuck? That's not an upgrade for Reaktor, that's a whole new program, based on FFT plots, with Reaktor knobs thrown in on top. Shit! This thing is not a toy or a frill, its a a serious attempt at a new direction in vocal synthesis, encompassing all known methods, plus a few previously unheard of methods (a specialty of NI).

It was too late to back down, I'd already hyped myself into it, so I said, "YES, give me the $300 ADDITION to the $700 I already got in this motherfucker."

"But Mr. Otto, according to our records, you still haven't paid us for the last upgrade to Reaktor 4, we sent it to you before you sent your check, we trusted you."

"No one has ever trusted me before, so I assumed I must have sent the check, SORRY! Let's see, that brings today's Reaktor tab to almost $400... " (That's $400 TODAY... like I said, I"ve already got over $700 in it since Dec, 2000)
