I'm talking to this guy in the #zappateers channel, its a bunch of Zappa fanatics like you've never dreamed of, and I explained I was 14 in 1966 when FREAK OUT was released. Eventually it came out that I "met" Frank, hell I more than "met" him, he fucked with my head my whole life! I explained my usual sermon about the REAL Frank Zappa, how he was a truly kind human being, and what a lesson it was for me. Blah, blah, blah, finally this guy says he's probably the youngest guy there, I ask what year he was born... 1990! I said, so are you 14 or 15? He was 15, and he wanted to know all about Frank Zappa, so being the wise old grampa figure who'll kick your ass in a split second if you don't show respect for the REAL Frank by being a HUMAN BEING, instead of a snide dickhead, I told him all about my FRIEND, Frank Zappa. He was all impressed, but I told him, LOTS of people met Frank Zappa, that's not a big deal at all, Frank meeting YOU is much more signifigant... for YOU. Anyhow, it was very enjoyable talking to a 15 year old person with BRAINS and MANNERS, etc. There IS HOPE for this world after all.
