"CROCODILE HUNTER" BRAND SUNGLASSES RECALLED (sept. 6) Jizbrane, Australia (API) The manufacturers of the late Steve Irwin's wildly-successful line of custom sunglasses, sold under the "Crocodile Hunter" brand name but known to millions of Australians simply as "Crockies," voluntarily issued a recall for millions of pairs of the popular, expensive polarized lenses when tests in the Great Barrier Reef proved them to be defective. According to a spokesman for "Goodonya Industries, LTD," of Sydney, Australia, the sunglasses were being recalled for "failure to protect the wearer from harmful rays."
