Augie would NEVER be caught dead even touching a Farfisa Combo Compact. He's strictly a Vox Continental guy, THE Vox Continental guy. He also plays Hammond B-3 and squeezebox for Bob Dylan and John Hammond Jr.

I've also sat around a studio called the Firestation, in San Marcos, Texas, where they have that long ass, Leon Russell etc, KAWAI grand piano, listening to Augie playing his tune Matilda, and some others. Augie has a real strong Fats Domino influence, sometimes he sounds just like him! I told Augie, "Man, you oughta make an album of just you playing piano." Shortly after that, Claude Morgan told me Augie told him, "Man, Kurt oughta make an album of just him playing piano." I'm serious, that KAWAI piano in San Marcos was supposedly on some famous Linda Ronstadt and Little Feat albums. Its about 12 ft long, antique white, with massively solid legs holding it up, like the Sphinx, it takes any player who plays it to another level of what the term grand piano really means. The low end is like the throbbing blue vein in the bottom of Beethoven's balls.
